St. Sebastian Preserve Hiking Campout This campout we hiked about 10 miles with fully load backpacks. It was a very long and hard trip, but we all kept to the journey and managed to make it back. It was a very fun trip and I especially liked the camping arrangements. The last night we slept on a steep hill which was very fun for setting up hammocks on. Backpacking was a new experience for most of the troop but we all learned something new together. |

Easter Egg Hunt Service Project For this meeting we all helped with the festivities at Faith Fellowships Easter egg hunt. It was a very productive use of the scouts time. We helped run the bounce houses along with running a food stand. With burnt hot dogs every now and then we managed to make some money and help the community too. |

Webelos Crossover This meeting was all about welcoming the new scouts from den 337 into our troop. Sadly it was on a week day so we weren’t able to have an overnight celebration, but we had fun anyway. We had a ceremony lakeside where the troop, den, and parent crossed them over into scouting. We were very lucky to get 2 order of the arrow officials to help in the ceremony. Afterwards we sat down to a delicious dinner and gave the new scouts their books and binders. It was a night these new scouts will remember for the rest of their lives. We are very lucky to get so many knowledgeable, young, fun scouts. They will be a great addition to our troop and will be forming our 3rd patrol, whose name they all will decide on later. Matthew Walton has been elected as their patrol leader and showed great leadership so far. We look forward to having many fun and exciting high adventure campouts with our newest members. |

Grange Island - Survivor Campout #2 These campouts are always the most fun in my opinion. It was a long trip over by canoe, but the winds were with us both ways. While on the island we survived on the little food and supplies we had plus a couple of pineapples, potatoes, kiwis, and of course a little side of cow tongue. It was a very fun time and everyone survived the stay. The canoe ride back was a little shaky, but everyone got back unscathed, except I was a little creped out about the findings on the detour we took on the way back when we stopped at that other island. Jason and Mr. Walton found an intact pool; a dolls slipper; and a unfinished building in some really dark woods. By far the best part of this campout was the tons of pizza and soda we ate thanks to Mrs. Cherry. by Historian Xavier Diaz |

Samson’s Island Manhunt Campout This campout revolved around manhunt. In free time we did a small service project cleaning up brush. It was a very fun campout balanced by a little work, because all play and no work wouldn’t make a very productive troop. There were also some camp gadgets that were built in free time. Like a floating chair made of wood made by Nick, which was awesome enough to earn him a token. All in all it was a fun productive campout. |

Veteran's Flag Ceremony At this meeting we were able to show our appreciation to the veterans and currently serving military officers of America. We met at Faith Fellowship Church to celebrate Veterans Day. It was a great honor that we could show how much we care for these men that put their lives on the line to protect this country. We put on a great ceremony were we pledged to the flag and saluted the veterans as they saluted back. It was a very touching ceremony and it moved the veterans in the audience that day. |

Survival Raft Campout This campout was a long time in the making. We had a whole campout just to gather enough bamboo for the rafts. Chopping bamboo was surprisingly fun and very fruitful. We had enough to build 1 raft per every three people. Although most of them didn’t float we learned how to lash. When we got to the island we had to survive only on what was in our containers. It wasn’t that hard and all of the scouts had fun. We all ate, some people even caught fish, so no one was starving. Mr. Walton planned a surprise visitor who gave us some quail which we ate. It was a strange, but very enjoyable experience. The PLC felt this campout was so fun that we decided to have another to be announced at a later date. |

Surf Fishing Troop Meeting For this meeting we all wanted to go fishing at the beach. Mr. Walton found a great spot and invited one of his fishing buddies to show us some tricks he picked up. It was a little change from regular fishing, the only difference is bigger weights and hooks. It wasn’t really our lucky day. Very few fish were caught by rod most we had to net. Overall the troop went home happy and learned a few things on surf fishing. |

Bamboo Campout
This was the very first troop meeting of our brand new scout troop. We all sat around in a circle and introduced ourselves. We talked about the ambitions for our troop and elected SPL, ASPL, and our patrol leaders. We all gathered at the end for our first troop photo. We made foil ovens which we cooked pizza in and gathered around the fire for a monumental speech. We all left there an established troop of plank holders with goals for our brand new troop. |

Alexander Springs Campout This was the troop’s first major hike. It was mapped out at 14 miles, but we had to back track about a mile or so. When we got there we set up camp and went swimming. That night we had delicious meals and went to bed happy. The next day we went canoeing in the springs and it was fun and exciting. After we got back it was time to pack up and head home sore, but knowing we finally earned our troop logo. | |||
