June 1st - 2nd, 2019

Per PLC request, this will be our 2nd "Advancement Survivor" Campout!

The theme of this campout is "Advancement Survival", in the spirit of the TV show.   Unlike our previous "Survival" campouts, participants will not be foraging for food.  Instead they will compete to get the best food for their meals.   No one will go hungry!

But... some will eat MUCH better than others!

Upon arrival on the island, participants will be divided into teams, given team-color "buffs" to wear, and will spend the day building their shelter for sleeping in,and learning, practicing, and competing in advancement-related competitions.  Awards include better food, and better tools to build their shelters.

We will be camping on Spoil Island BC46 (where we went last time), in the Indian River in Grant.  We'll be going over by boat.

The competitions are as follows:
  • ROPES  - Tie knots & use lashings to build a device to support one of the team members.
  • FIRE  - Properly build a fire and burn a string first
  • COMPASS  - Navigate your way through the Island with just a map & compass.  Will you get lost?
  • SHELTER JUDGING - Best shelters win better prizes.

TO ATTEND THIS CAMPOUT SCOUTS (NOT PARENTS!) MUST DO THE FOLLOWING 4 STEPS:
  1. INFORMATION SHEET - Print it, READ IT, and put it in your Troop notebook  Use it to prepare/pack for the trip.
  2. PERMISSION FORM  - Print it, have your parents sign it, and bring it to the Troop Meeting with payment
  3. AGENDA - TBD (please come back)
"Council Ring"" - Parents do not tell/show/direct your Scout to this please.  A Scout is Trustworthy
