April 28th-29th, 2018

The theme of this campout is "Advancement Survival", in the spirit of the TV show.   Unlike our previous "Survival" campouts, participants will not be foraging for food.  Instead they will compete to get the best food for their meals.   No one will go hungry!

Upon arrival on the island, participants will be divided into teams, given team-color "buffs" to wear, and will spend the day building their shelter for sleeping in,and learning, practicing, and competing in advancement-related competitions.  Awards include better food, and better tools to build their shelters.

The competitions are as follows:
  • ROPES  - Tie knots & use lashings to build a device to support one of the team members.
  • FIRE  - Properly build a fire and burn a string first
  • WATER  - Use boating knots, rescue methods, and canoe techniques to compete in a relay
  • GEOCACHE  - Be the first team to find a hidden treasure using Geocaching
