April 12th - 13th, 2014 (1 Night Campout)

This campout involves canoeing to and exploring Grange Island (where the Falcon Patrol will be spending the night) and setting the rest of the Troop to camp on Tower Island!

On Tower Island, the Troop will build towers to be used in a Troop-wide capture the flag game in the evening.   Daytime activities include tubing behind a boat (with parent permission), individual fishing (if desired), games, good food, a campfire, and a scouts-own service.

On the way home, we will canoe to a few other islands, explore, and then have a Troop lunch at our landing before returning home.

TO ATTEND THIS CAMPOUT SCOUTS (NOT PARENTS) MUST DO THE FOLLOWING 3 STEPS:
  1. INFORMATION SHEET  - Print it, READ IT, and put it in your Troop notebook  Use it to prepare/packfor the trip.   Click to view, and then hover near the bottom to save/print OR to download go to the bottom of this page and click the down arrow beside the sheet.

  • Download & Create your own Packing List from HERE and use it, or use the generic one HERE.

WHAT TO WEAR - Normally we always wear a Class-A Uniform on Departure.   This time, since we're going to be canoeing on arrival, do this:
  • Troop T-Shirt
  • Scout Shorts or a Scout Bathing Suit (no non-scout swim suits for canoeing)
  • Close Toed Water Shoes or Close Toed Sandals (no open toes)
  • If you only have 1 pair of Scout Shorts and don't have a Scout Swim Suit, you may bring a normal swim suit for swimming/tubing later (scout colors if possible).
