Peace River Fossil Dig Canoe Expidition

October 14th-16th, 2021

Canoeing, Swimming, Camping, and DIGGING FOR FOSSILS!   This is Troop 337's fourth trip to Peace River.  We're staying at Brownsville Park in Arcadia, FL.  Right on the river!

The troop has sifters and a few shovels to share, but there's special equipment you may want, and plans to make, so, be sure to do your job to read and explore all information about this campout, read your info sheet, etc.

PARENTS - For you son to attend this campout, please do the following:
  1. Please carefully read the INFORMATION SHEET  as well as all information supplied to the scouts below.
  2. With your son, fill out the ONLINE REGISTRATION/RSVP/PARENT PERMISSION FORM -  This is to be filled out by the parent and scout, prior to Monday , October 11th 8pm.  There is an option to pay in the form, or a check or cash can be turned in at drop-off on Friday.
  3. Covid Precautions - Pre Health Check - Please use good judgement.  Please check your sons temperature and do a health check before sending him.  We will be driving the Troop Van and a leader truck from the Scoutpost.
SCOUTS (NOT PARENTS) MUST DO THE FOLLOWING 5 STEPS to attend this Campout (see print & download instructions below):
  1.  INFORMATION SHEET - Print it, READ IT, and put it in your Troop notebook  Use it carefully to prepare/pack for the trip.   
  2. With your parents, fill out the  ONLINE REGISTRATION/RSVP/PARENT PERMISSION FORM as instructed above (sit with your parents and use link above)
  3. AGENDA - Print it and Bring it.
  4. Look at the links below here, you'll learn how to dig for fossils!
  5. Pack, using the information on the Information Sheet Above, and then use the Scout Personal Packing List or click HERE to edit/save your own version in Ms Word.
PATROL FORMS for this campout - Anyone can look, but, only Patrol Leader, Chief Cook or assigned Patrol Members may edit.
