Here is the link for the merit badge schedule...take a look and have a good idea what you would like to take. We will work on it in detail on Monday night: http://www.campdanielboone.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=rpRAbG-H898%3d&tabid=147&mid=617 You also need to look at this link starting on page 71 for the merit badge list that explains each one and any prerequisites or other requirements: http://www.campdanielboone.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=IhA3JqGqfpQ%3d&tabid=147&mid=617 For boys attending Boonesboro Village. I have to make a call on Monday to find out exactly how your merit badges work. I see they are offering Metalworking, Wilderness Survival, Leatherworking, Indian Lore and Pottery, and Black Powder Rifle. But it also says you can take other merit badge classes at base camp in the afternoon if you want to. So let me make that phone call to see how all of that works and can let you know by Monday night. You can still look the schedule over for what is offered in the afternoon if you think that you want to do that. Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any questions! Mrs. Cherry -- Hi all, It's time to start getting deeper into the planning for Camp Daniel Boone! Here are a few things we need to take care of and that I want to let you know!1. We need another payment of $100 at Monday, April 1st meeting. Please bring a check or let me know Scout Account at the meeting. 2. I will be signing you up for your Merit Badge classes on Wednesday, April 3rd. We will have a meeting AFTER the Troop Meeting on Monday so that you can all work together to come up with the schedules that you would like.
It will last no more than one hour and you are free to leave once you
have your schedule prepared. I will send a link on Friday for you to
look at over the weekend so you have an idea together by the meeting :) 3. I have secured a CHARTER BUS for our transportation to Summer Camp!!!
The cost is approximately $125 per scout. Don't panic. We will have
fundraisers to lower the cost, just like we did last year. FYI, last
year each scout ended up paying $45 for gas. It was charged at $90 per
scout but we cut it in half with fundraisers and we will do the same or
better this year!!! The charter bus is a much safer, quicker way to
travel! It will be comfortable and the leaders don't have to drive!!!
The bus will leave late in the evening on Saturday, travel overnight,
and arrive around noon on Sunday. The cost actually ends up being close
to the same as last year, or the same as leaders driving this year,
because there will be no stopping overnight; there will be less meals
and entertainment expenses involved. We are sharing the bus with 2
other Troops in the County. 4. I have the
following Scouts registered as going to Boonesboro Village (vs. Base
Camp): Zachary Barhold, Nathan Thomas, Josh Best, Jason Walton. If any
of the four of you have changed your mind, or I have that incorrect,
please let me know. In addition, if any of you would like to go to
Boonesboro Village for the week, it is not too late!! Please reply to let me know by end of the day Thursday, March 28th. I
think that is all for now. Please watch your email Friday for more
details on choosing your merit badges! If you have any questions,
please ask! Mrs. Cherry |
